First thing to keep in mind is pronunciation of Busan is Pusan!! #Busan is a very impressive and modern city in South Korea. It's famous for festivals and conferences and is aptly striving for being a most prominent #MICE ( meetings, incentives, Conferences and exhibitions) hub city in Asia. You will surely remember 2002 Asian games and FIFA world cup. Busan celebrates various festivals every year. Busan international film festival is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia.
It's a south Korea's busiest port. The city is having all modern world class facilities. It showcases the technological wonders with the long flyovers and high rise buildings.
We took a morning flight from Jeju island in South Korea to Busan. A pre-booked taxi was waiting for us at the Busan airport. We showed him our #itinerary- the names of the places which we wanted to see on that day and he decided their sequence.
From airport we went to #Songdo beach to take a cable car to #Amnam Park. On the way we could see the glimpses of Busan old town. Let me tell you, Busan is very famous for its beaches.
We bought tickets for the glass bottom cable car. No marks for guessing that the view from the cable car was amazing. The blue waters of the sea visible from the transparent bottom of the cable car and surrounding mountains, islands, pine trees, walk ways made the ride memorable. They give you lollipops with the cable car tickets! So that you won't have any trouble due to the air pressure while riding in the cable car.

There are various shops, restaurants once you reach on the other side at Amnam Park. Being a famous tourist spot, its always crowded. When we went there in April 2019, a Dinosaur Exhibition was going on. A lot of school trips were visiting the exhibition and the place was filled with energy of the school students!
I preferred to go to the hill top. Lined up with tall Pine trees, the way to the hill top was picturesque and inviting.

After the delicious lunch, we went to Hwangnyeongsan Mountain. The winding road is having lots of Cherry blossom trees on both sides. We were there in mid April and Cherry blossom season in Bussan was almost over. But surely we could visualize, what a magnificent sight it must be! A mountain filled with Cherry Blossom will be like a dream come true.

If you climb a few more steps, you can see the beacon fire mound on the top. Best view of Busan can be seen from here.

After seeing the natural beauty as well as technological development, we headed for a historical and spiritual site Haedong Yonggungsa. This is a 600 years old Buddhist temple. It was destroyed by many reasons, several times, then rebuilt and renamed many times. This temple occupies a vast area and is the only temple in Korea which is having both sea and mountain on it's sides.

It was built for well being and prosperity of people. Nearly hundred plus steps having beautiful stone lanterns lead us to the main temple.

A pagoda stands tall in front of the main temple and at the back of the temple, if you climb a few more steps, you can go the statue of the goddess of Mercy. The white colored statue is visible from a distance.
There are many tales about this temple, but I would have loved getting the information about the temple from an authorized tourist guide. That service is not available inside the temple.

The stone bell like structures behind the pagoda are somewhat similar to those structures in ancient Buddhist Temple at #Borobudur in Indonesia.

The day was really long which started early in Jeju island and consisted of Plane, Car, Cable Car journey, hundreds of steps climbed and descended, a stomach full with delicious food and the mind full with natural beauty of the city! The day surely deserved an apt finale and the finale was a leisurely walk at South Korea's most famous urban beach, Haeundae Beach. It was just across our hotel at 5 minutes walk. It's a long and wide white sand beach. Busan international film festival as well as many other festivals are held on this beach. One of the most popular beaches in Busan.

The rays of setting sun were getting reflected on the skyscrapers and the waves of the sea resonated in the chatter of the children playing on the beach. We were lingering on the beach till the weather became really chilly. Had to return to the hotel to come back again to the beach, on next day, early in the morning.
